Retriever student ambassadors

Program terms

Updated November 2, 2026

These terms explain the application process and the standard offer for selected creators. Applying is free. An application is not acceptance into paid work, a promise of payment, or a commitment to make content.

Who can apply

You must be at least 18 and currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a U.S. college or university. There is no minimum follower count, school restriction within the U.S., or cap on applications. We select creators based on content quality, originality, campus involvement, audience engagement, and program fit.

Before paid work begins, you must confirm that you can lawfully perform and receive payment for it, including any work authorization that applies to you. We do not collect immigration documents in this application.

Approval comes before production

If selected, you and Retriever will agree in writing on a brief, number of videos, posting account and platform, dates, payment, and any different usage rights. Only work approved in advance is paid. Do not produce or post a sponsored video expecting payment before that agreement.

Each brief covers original content, one agreed review round, and the approved post. We review for the agreed brief, accurate product claims, privacy, and clear sponsorship disclosure. We do not require positive opinions. If we cancel after you deliver a video that meets the approved brief, we pay the $50 base fee. There is no view bonus for unpublished work.

Video fees and view bonuses

Organic views at 30 daysBase feeBonusTotal
Under 5,000$50$0$50
5,000–9,999$50$50$100
10,000 or more$50$125$175

Amounts are in U.S. dollars. Only the highest bonus applies. The 10,000-view bonus replaces the 5,000-view bonus. The standard maximum is $175 per approved video, regardless of views above 10,000. A new paid brief is required for additional videos.

We count organic views on one agreed public TikTok post, Instagram Reel, or YouTube Short in the first 30 days after publication. Cross-posts are welcome but do not create another base fee or combine view counts unless we agree otherwise in writing. Paid boosts, purchased views, engagement exchanges, bots, and other artificial activity do not qualify.

You may claim a bonus as soon as the approved post reaches a milestone within its first 30 days. Send the public post URL and a screenshot or screen recording of native analytics showing the post, organic view count, and date. The final claim deadline is seven days after the 30-day mark; evidence must show views reached within the qualifying window. If the post includes paid distribution, provide analytics that separate organic from paid views. Retriever may ask for reasonable evidence to verify the count. We will explain any excluded views and give you an opportunity to respond.

Payment timing

The base fee is due within 14 calendar days after the approved video is published, we verify its link, and payout setup is complete. A verified view bonus is due within 14 calendar days after its analytics are accepted. You do not have to wait until day 30 to claim it. If we already paid the $50 bonus at 5,000 views and your post reaches 10,000 within 30 days, we pay an additional $75. Total bonuses remain capped at $125 per approved video. We will identify any missing information promptly; we will not delay a verified base fee solely because a bonus is under review.

We agree on a supported payout method before you begin. Any required tax or payout information is collected through a separate secure process after selection. Do not send bank details, identity documents, or tax IDs through the application form or Slack. You are responsible for applicable taxes. No spend is committed until an individual creator brief is approved.

What your content should show

Use Retriever yourself and share your honest experience. Show a real task and result. Do not invent product features, savings, grades, job offers, testimonials, or guaranteed outcomes. Follow platform rules and obtain permission for music, footage, and other people's appearances.

Study content may show permitted research, organizing sources, study notes, and other work allowed by your course. Do not promote cheating, impersonation, or bypassing exam or assessment rules. For job applications, use truthful information and review submissions. Hide personal information, account details, private documents, and other people's data in recordings.

Disclose the sponsorship

Clearly say or show that Retriever paid for the video, where viewers will notice it. Include an on-screen disclosure and, when the video has spoken audio, a spoken disclosure. Put a clear disclosure such as “Ad” or “Paid partnership with Retriever AI” near the start of the caption. Use the platform's paid-partnership setting when available. A profile bio or an “ambassador” hashtag alone is not enough.

See the FTC's disclosure guidance for influencers.

Your video and our permission to share it

You keep ownership. After the base fee is paid, you grant Retriever a nonexclusive, worldwide license for 90 days to repost the approved video on Retriever's own social accounts and website, with creator credit. We may resize, trim, or add captions without changing the meaning of your statements. We will remove or unpublish our copies when that license ends unless you agree to an extension.

Paid advertising, Spark Ads, whitelisting, sublicensing, AI training, exclusivity, and use beyond 90 days are not included. Any of those uses needs a separate written agreement. Applying alone gives us no rights to reuse your existing videos.

Keep the approved post public for at least 90 days unless a platform removes it or privacy or safety concerns require removal. Contact us if that happens. We will address the situation individually and will not automatically claw back earned fees for events outside your control.

Application privacy

We collect the information you submit, including your contact details, school, creator links, content idea, and eligibility confirmations, to review your application and operate the program. We store it in our private application records and share it with the team reviewing applications through a private Slack channel. Form providers and hosting services process it as described in our Privacy Notice.

We do not publish your application or add you to unrelated marketing lists through this form. We retain application information while needed for recruitment and program administration, and records of approved work as needed for payment and recordkeeping. Contact founders@rtrvr.ai to update or withdraw an application or request deletion, subject to required record retention.

Changes and questions

You may withdraw before accepting a paid brief. Either party may stop future work; already approved work and earned fees remain governed by the agreed brief. Updates to public program terms apply to future briefs and will not retroactively change agreed fees or earned bonuses.
