Free Mode includes supported AI models and Cloud browser time for tasks you start in the extension or Cloud dashboard. No AI API key or paid AI subscription is required. Sponsored cards and a daily fair-use allowance apply. Your account shows the current allowance and reset time. When you reach it, wait for the reset, use your own AI provider, or choose a paid plan. Your provider may charge for its usage.

New accounts receive 100 one-time welcome credits for paid usage. They are separate from the recurring Free Mode allowance. One schedule that runs once a day or less often, in the Cloud or in your Chrome, is included, paid from the daily allowance. More schedules, faster schedules, triggers, cookie sync, API runs, rtrvr's agent over MCP, and WhatsApp tasks require a paid plan. Browser tools that let your own AI drive your Chrome over MCP are free on every plan. Data enrichment and managed proxies can use credits separately.

On the free plan, Cloud API calls made with an API key, the MCP Cloud tools (cloud_agent, cloud_scrape, and agent or scrape when they run in Cloud), and WhatsApp tasks need a paid plan, as does running rtrvr's agent in your Chrome through API or MCP. Free Mode covers the tasks you start in the extension or Cloud dashboard. On a paid plan, API, MCP, and WhatsApp runs use credits for the resources they consume. rtrvr.ai uses Google Sheets as a "memory layer" for complex workflows. When you run multi-tab automations, each tab operates as an independent sub-agent that needs to read inputs and write results. Sheets provide a structured way to orchestrate these parallel operations.

We use Google's most restrictive Drive scope: drive.file. This is the smallest permission available and gives us access ONLY to files we create or files you explicitly select through the Google Drive Picker. rtrvr asks for it only when a task touches a Google Sheet, Doc, or Slides: an attached sheet or a Google link up front, or, once the plan is generated, a plan that writes a spreadsheet (you see the plan and decide). Other tasks run without it, and any rows a task collects come back in chat, where you can save them to a Sheet later.

rtrvr.ai is built on a local-first architecture. The agent runs primarily in YOUR browser using Chrome Extension APIs. In Chrome, the agent uses your existing logged-in sessions, and your credentials stay on your machine. It never asks for a password in chat. Cloud tasks use the selected profile's stored sessions and saved passwords. You can sync a session from Chrome, save a password, or sign in during a cloud task. Retriever can keep that cloud sign-in for later tasks in the same profile. Saved passwords are encrypted and filled by sign-in code. See Secure logins for setup, storage, and removal.

Your data is NOT used to train AI models. Our contract with Google explicitly forbids training on inference data, and rtrvr.ai does not perform any model training. Your workflows are processed and results returned: nothing more.

For maximum peace of mind, use a dedicated Chrome profile for rtrvr.ai. This provides complete isolation from your main browsing and work accounts.
